Overriding a template

The platform looks for a template in your site's templates/ folder first, then in its own. A file at the same path in your site repository is the one that renders. Some default templates ship with the platform, and yours replaces them; for others, such as most public-site templates, the platform has none and your site has to provide the file. Each template has a copy button for its path.

Admin screens work the same way. Copy an admin template, such as pages/backend/pages/edit.html, to the same path in your site to change how editors work with that record.

Three views

  • Templates: default templates of the public site.
  • API & Jobs: none. API responses are JSON, so there is nothing to override.
  • Admin: the cdna-admin screens of the module.

What a template receives

Each template lists the variables it receives, with their types linked to the model pages. Variables every template gets, such as $_request and $_url, are covered in Global template variables.
