Permissions, Sitemap Language Links and Bug Fixes

Many more admin areas can be permissioned per module, among them Menus, Carts, Discounts, Jobs and Taxes. Sitemaps carry hreflang links between language versions.

Key highlights

  • Permissions for more of the admin: Menus, Carts, Checkouts, Discounts, Jobs, Inventory, Invoices, Mailer, OAuth and Taxes get permissions of their own.
  • Language links in the sitemap: pages and product descriptions list their language versions.
  • Custom payment forms: the Payment element exposes its billing fields and helpers to templates.

Changes in behaviour

  • Permissions: the newly covered modules now check permissions. Review the permissions of groups that are not administrators for these modules, so each keeps the access it needs.

Permissions for more of the admin

You can now control which admin users may use the Menus module and many other areas that had no permissions of their own: Carts, Checkouts, Discounts, Jobs (listed as Orchestration), Inventory, Invoices, Mailer, OAuth and Taxes. Set them per module under Users › Permissions, where the Permission Checker shows what a user may do.

Language links in the sitemap

The sitemap now includes alternate-language (hreflang) links for pages and product descriptions that have translations, so search engines can send each visitor to the right language version.

Custom payment and donation forms

Building your own payment or donation form is easier. A form's Payment element exposes the billing fields to render, the fields a valid submission needs, and helpers for the form id and preset amounts, so a template can lay out the parts itself:

Other improvements and bug fixes

  • Building custom payment and donation forms is now easier. The form payment API exposes the billing fields to render, the fields required for a valid submission, and convenience helpers for the form ID and preset amounts, alongside expanded integration documentation.
  • Files without a generated preview image now show a file-type icon instead of a broken image.
  • Fixed the billable requests export so the notification email containing the download link is now sent correctly.
