Platform 2026.4.9

What’s new in Core dna Platform 2026.4.9

Stripe Tax

Stripe Tax joins Avalara as a tax provider, calculating tax against the same Stripe account that takes the payments. Tax on shipping is now part of the checkout total.

Key highlights

  • Stripe Tax: calculate tax with the Stripe account that already takes your payments, alongside Avalara.
  • Shipping tax at checkout: tax on shipping is part of the total the customer pays.

Changes in behaviour

  • Shipping tax is now calculated at checkout, for Stripe Tax and Avalara, and included in the total the customer pays. It no longer arrives afterwards as a separate adjustment invoice.
  • Small tax differences, up to 0.05 in the order's currency, are treated as rounding and no longer create an adjustment invoice. Larger differences are recorded against the order for review.

Stripe Tax

Stripe Tax is now a tax provider alongside Avalara. If you already take payments through Stripe, tax is calculated and recorded against the same connected account your payments settle to, using the tax registrations set up there, so there is no second tax vendor to onboard.

Set it up

  1. Under Taxes › Providers, add a Stripe Tax provider.
  2. Enter the Connected Account ID. Left blank, the provider uses the account of the site's Stripe payment method, so set that up first.
  3. Set the Default Item Tax Code and the Shipping Tax Code, and keep Test Mode on while you try it out.

Every recorded tax transaction carries the order, invoice and payment it belongs to, so it can be traced from the Stripe dashboard.

Other improvements and bug fixes

  • Tax on shipping is now calculated and stored at checkout, so it is included in the total the customer pays rather than appearing afterwards as a separate unpaid adjustment invoice. This applies to both Stripe Tax and Avalara.
  • Fixed an issue where the options selected against a product were not shown on order and quote items in the admin.
  • Small tax differences of a few cents are now treated as rounding and no longer create an adjustment invoice, and genuine discrepancies are recorded against the order for review.
