MCP Server 2.0.1

What’s new in Core dna MCP Server 2.0.1

Custom fields on menus and records

Agents can read and write the custom fields of menus, users, people, products, categories, layouts and books.

Custom fields on menus

Agents can now read the custom fields of every menu and menu element, along with the available options, defaults and required fields. They can also set or clear them, including images, select options and links to other records. Changing one field leaves the others alone, and a wrong option is refused before anything is saved.

Custom fields on other records

The same reading and writing works for users, people, products, product categories, categories, tags, layouts and books. Writing one field no longer changes the value of another, and image fields work.

Blogs

  • Updating one blog area no longer clears the others.
  • A blog's author and image can be set directly.
  • A post's credited authors can be set or cleared.

Jobs are easier to build and debug

  • Job runs and job lists no longer overflow the AI client's output limit. Long outputs are trimmed, and a single action's output can be opened in full.
  • A Retrieve Records action can fetch the records of the last N days: agents are pointed to the date rule that works.
  • Older Send Email action settings no longer confuse agents.
  • How to read the records of a Retrieve Records action in a template is now explained.

Other improvements and bug fixes

  • Asking for the records of a custom entity by its singular identifier (for example "order") returns the records, not only their count.
  • If the connection drops during a save, the agent is told the change may already have been made, so it checks before retrying instead of creating a duplicate.
  • Uploading to a folder whose path starts with files/ now explains the resulting public URL.
  • Development-only error text no longer appears in answers.
  • Refund records can be looked up for building automations.
