Back in Stock Notifications and Bug Fixes

Visitors can ask to be told when a product or variant is back in stock, and a new Back in stock job event sends them the email. Admin passkeys have their own page.

Key highlights

  • Back in stock notifications: visitors register interest in a product or variant, and a job emails them when it is back.
  • A page for admin passkeys: name, rename and add passkeys from the profile.
  • Stock counts by warehouse: product and variant forms count only the client's own warehouses.

Changes in behaviour

Templates that offer to resume a payment from the cart's checkout: cart.getCheckout() now returns null once the items being paid for have moved to the checkout.

Back in stock notifications

Visitors can now ask to be told when a product or variant is back in stock. Logged-in visitors register with their account, and guests register with an email address when the new Expression of interest group of the Products settings allows it. The same group sets the reCAPTCHA mode for guests, the groups new people join and the stock threshold.

Registrations are listed under Products › Interests, where they can be filtered, exported, marked completed or deleted.

Set it up

  1. Under Settings › Products › Expression of interest, choose whether guests may register, the reCAPTCHA mode, the groups and the stock threshold.
  2. Add a form to the product page template that posts to the new endpoint.
  3. Create a job on the new Back in stock event. It fires when a product's or variant's available stock rises above the threshold; the job retrieves the pending interests, sends the email and marks them completed.

Guests

Guests can register only when the Expression of interest group allows it, and the same group sets the reCAPTCHA mode they see.

A page for admin passkeys

Passkeys in the admin area have their own page, opened from the Manage passkeys tile on the profile or on a user's edit form. Admin users can rename their own passkeys there, and the name of a new passkey is suggested from the user's name and device.

Other improvements and bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue where a payment could be taken without an order being created. This happened when the payment result arrived later, such as after an off-site payment page or a bank authentication check, and the cart changed, the shopper logged out or the checkout expired in the meantime. In these cases the items being paid for now move from the cart to the checkout, leaving the cart empty.
  • Stock quantities on the product and variant edit forms now count only the client's own warehouses, and no longer include stock transactions that are not assigned to a warehouse.
  • Fixed an issue where the Run job button in the jobs list started the job without asking for confirmation first.
